Energy & Water Data
Buildings are the single greatest source of greenhouse gas emissions in Los Angeles. Four percent of buildings are responsible for half of the total building energy use in the City of Los Angeles. The new L.A. Energy and Water Efficiency Ordinance will help reduce energy use by 15 percent by 2020.
The City of Los Angeles already has benchmarked the energy and water usage of over 250 municipal buildings, helping prioritize needed audits and retrofits. You can view the benchmarking data on public buildings occupied by the City. Another reference is the UCLA Energy Atlas.
Electricity & Water Data
The Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) will begin making whole building electricity and water usage data available soon.
Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) will begin making whole building gas usage data available soon.
